![]() GovTech: The Future Jobs Ireland (FJI) 2019 annual report sets out core ambitions for each of the pillars within FJI. It is expected to go live early in 2020, at which time public bodies will start integrating with the service. The Postbox service will be delivered as a single shared platform available for all public bodies to communicate with individuals. The service will provide safe, secure and convenient access to important government letters, simply by going online using the device of their choice. The Digital Postbox will give people the opportunity to receive their post from Government digitally in a secure electronic mailbox. The Digital Leaders’ Group and the digital transformation plans will be co-ordinated and overseen by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, a division within the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.ĭigital Postbox: Minister of State with special responsibility for Public Procurement, Open Government and eGovernment, Patrick O’Donovan TD, announced earlier in the year plans to deliver a new eGovernment service, known as the Government Digital Postbox solution, which will provide new choices for people around the receipt of Government letters. ![]() Furthermore, the Government plans to build upon its successful GovTech engagement in 2019 with further exploration of innovative digital opportunities by partnering with industry, and in particular the start-up and SME sector. Work will also be undertaken to hold a public consultation to help shape the future digital policies and priorities for Government, exploring, for example, the expansion of the use of Government digital infrastructure outside of the context of Government. Over the course of 2020, Departments will work through a list of priority digital projects, such as the adoption of the Digital Postbox service the drive to consolidate and simplify access to Government services through gov.ie the first phase release of a citizen health portal and the digitisation of the electoral register, to name a few. transformational, user-driven, mobile-centric, and accessible by all.
